Arrival at the University
The distance from Rovaniemi city center to the university is 2.6 km. It takes about 30 minutes to walk and 10 minutes by bike. You can also conveniently reach the university from the city center by bus. Bus lines 2, 4, 6, and 8 run from the city center to the university in approximately 15 minutes.
Rovaniemi’s local public transport system is called Linkkari. You can pay for your ticket on the bus using a contactless bank card or a mobile payment device. Traveling with the Waltti Mobiili app is cheaper than purchasing a single ticket on the bus.

The railway station and bus station are located about 2.5 km from the University of Lapland. You can plan your journey from the railway or bus station to the university using the Linkkari route planner.
Getting Around on Campus
The event will be held at the University of Lapland campus (Yliopistonkatu 8). The joint programme will take place in Fellman Hall, located in the main lobby. Workshops will be held in various rooms across the university; detailed locations will be provided in a document available under the “Working groups” tab.
You can view the University of Lapland campus map here. The main entrance is marked with a green arrow. Entering through these doors will bring you directly to the lobby, where event registration takes place.
Parking
Parking on the main campus is only allowed in areas marked with parking signs. Parking areas are shown on the campus map. Parking is free of charge. In some areas, a parking disc is required.
Accessibility
The main entrance and Fellman Hall are accessible. Fellman Hall is equipped with a hearing loop system. If you have any accessibility needs, you can mention them upon arrival during registration. You will then be directed to the university’s facility services advisors, who can assist you with matters such as the hearing loop system and accessible routes.

Lunch Options
In May, Restaurant Petronella is open on the University of Lapland campus. It is located in the F-wing, on the Faculty of Art and Design side. The F-wing is easily accessible via indoor corridors.
There are also plenty of good lunch options in and around Rovaniemi city center, including Hanki, Korundi (buffet), Arktikum (buffet), Cafe & Bar 21, Namu, Saigon Noodle Bar, and Gustav.
