Chris Bail (USA)

”Chris Bail is Professor of Sociology and Public Policy at Duke University, where he directs the Polarization Lab. A Guggenheim and Carnegie Fellow, he studies political extremism on social media using tools from the emerging field of computational social science. He is the author of Breaking the Social Media Prism: How to Make our Platforms Less Polarizing.”

Mischa Gabowitsch (GER)

Mischa Gabowitsch works at the Einstein Forum in Potsdam, Germany. He is a historian and sociologist influenced by French pragmatic sociology and Annales-style cultural history. Geographically his work focuses on the Soviet Union and its satellite and successor states, but he is also very interested in comparison and transnational connections, especially with the Global South. He works on war memorials, commemorative practices, and protest and social movements.
