Performers
Aninkaisten Sävel is a large dance orchestra in the English style of the 1920s and 1930s. The brass and saxophone sections are not yet as extensive as in later big bands, but on the other hand, the sound spectrum also includes violin, clarinet, banjo and double bass. This instrumentation is agile and adaptable. The orchestra, founded in 2008, rehearses at Aninkaistenmäki in Turku.
The evening’s vocal soloists will be Sanna Vartiainen, Aleksi Kauppinen, Sami Levänen and the sociologists Mikko Lagerspetz and Sabina Hadžibulić. The program mainly includes music from the 1920s and 1930s, but to the delight of sociologists, Sanna will also perform the song Anomia, composed by M.A. Numminen to lyrics by Erik Allardt.

”Girl, Put Your Records On! – the Turku-based DJ duo Iidamummo and Jenni from the Block will bring their CD collection and play the hottest ’90s hits.”
