Have a look at the campus map, which features buildings where main events of Sociology Days take place. The map will also be in the conference file you will receive upon registration.
The main events of Sociology Days, such as registration and the keynote speeches, take place in Educarium building. Publishers’ bookstands are also located in the lobby of Educarium. The Second Sociological Art Exhibition will take place in the lobby of Publicum.
The seminar rooms for workshop sessions are located in Educarium (T47), Publicum (T50), Calonia (T23), Arcanum (T22), Arwidssoninkatu 1 (T18), Arwidssoninkatu 2 (T17) and at Åbo Akademi’s buildings Asa (Å23) and Arken (Å22). It takes between 5-10 minutes to reach the seminar rooms from Educarium (the campus map)
Several cafeterias and canteens can be found from the university campus, including Macchiavelli (Educarium T47), Kahvila Aracanum (Arcanum T22) and Café Fänriken (ASA Å23) that are situated the closest to the conference venue.
The phone number of the local taxi center is 02-10041. You can also reach the university with public transportation (busses 4, 28, 50, 51, 53, 54 and 55). The city center is within a walking distance, and the dinner venue is located in the city center (Panimoravintola Koulu, Eerikinkatu 18, 20100 Turku).
Every participant takes care of their own accommodation. However, a certain number of rooms have been reserved for conference participants in the local hotels as well as from the spa hotel (Caribia) near the university with special conference prices. When making a reservation, use the particular reservation code of the hotel, which is indicated in the accommodation page. Notice also that the special prices for conference participants expire approximately a month before the event.
